Entrance Exam
Candidates applying for admission to first-degree studies might be required to take the entrance exam during the admission process.
Do I need to take the entrance exam?
The entrance exam testing the knowledge required to undertake studies in the chosen programme is required from you if your certificate entitling you to study was issued in the education system of a country other than:
- a member state of the European Union
(Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden) - EFTA member state – parties to the EEA agreement
(Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) - OECD member state

What does the entrance exam look like?
The exam takes place online, in an online test-taking system owned by the University of Szczecin.
To take part in the exam, you must be taking part in the admission process to your chosen programme via the IRK online admission system. Create an account in the system, choose the programme you’re interested in, upload the required documents, and answer all the questions in the Additional information section. Pay special attention to the question “Do I need to take the entrance exam?“.
Before the day of the exam, you will receive an e-mail message with instructions on how to log into the system, your login data, the link to the system and to the exam, the password to the exam, and a reminder on the number of points you must score to successfully pass the exam.
The exam consists of 10 questions with single-choice ABC answers. For each correct answer, you receive 1 point. For each incorrect answer, you receive 0 points. The entire exam is worth 10 points. You must score at least 6 points to pass the exam.
From the beginning of the exam till the end, you will have 30 minutes to complete it.
After completing the exam, the system will automatically let you know whether you have passed it or not.
Retaking the exam is not possible.
What topics are covered by the exam?
The exam tests the basic knowledge required to take up studies in any given programme – the knowledge tested is at high-school level in each of the required fields.
For example, the entrance exam to the Global Communication programme will test your knowledge on linguistics, the Business Management or Economics and IT Applications exam will check your knowledge on economy and computer-related matters, the exam to the Hydrobiology programme will check your knowledge on natural sciences, and so on.
