Social Sciences is a degree programme with English as the language of instruction. It provides students with knowledge in the fields of sociology, psychology, management, social communication and economics. The degree is a response to local employers’ demand for social communication specialists
The graduates of Social Sciences degree programme will know:
- the basic psychological testing methods
- how to use available diagnostic tools
- how to design new ones that are reliable in psychometric terms
- how to understand other people’s behaviour, emotions and motivations
- how to solve problems of an individual, a group or problems at the social level.
The acquired skills enable the programme graduates to take up employment, e.g. in:
- local government and government administration (mainly in departments dealing with relations with civil society organizations, social affairs, promotion) as civil servants, social workers, human resources specialists, family support workers, equality officers, referents working with migrants,
- associations, foundations, social movements and project teams as coordinators, social researchers, analysts, social advisors
- the media as journalists, analysts, correspondents,
- the small and medium-sized enterprises sector, e.g. as department managers, team leaders, project coordinators, employees of customer service, HR, consultants, employees of promotion and marketing departments
- advertising agencies, scientific research centres,
- international corporations, e.g. as IT team coordinators, team leaders, data quality analysts, service quality improvement consultants, monitoring and evaluation specialists.
One of the most important competencies in today’s job market is the knowledge and ability to solve key problems using the latest achievements in social science as well as relevant English terminology. In this model, students will learn to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
